I've done no legwork on the subject, so I haven't a clue. All I know is the people who are vehemently against baby vaccines tend to be a little nutso, and that makes me think their opinions are the same.

No the rate of increase is apparently far beyond what can be contributed to better diagnosis alone. In one of my classes we were told that the spike in cases of autism is similar to that of responses to an environmental condition, so it most likely is due to something that has changed in our environment however we have no idea what it may be.

Yes, yes we can. It's a very odd association for some people to make, with no evidence whatsoever.
