Sword canes. Makin' a comeback!Kaharz wrote:That is one of the most annoying things I ever listened to. It may be second only to the guy with the chrome dragon pommel sword cane at the bar the other night.

The guy had a limp, so I assume the cane part was legitimate. He felt it necessary to explain to us how he never walks the streets of Baltimore without protection and how he likes to make sure he can look his foe in the eye. It took him about 30 seconds to actually get the blade loose from the sheath. The facts that the handle was a chrome dragon that looked rather awkward to hold and the blade rattled did not add any confidence to his claims of badassery. I'm pretty sure the only way he could defend himself with it would be by causing any thugs on the streets of Baltimore to collapse with laughter.DonRetrasado wrote:Sword canes. Makin' a comeback!

Of Monsters and Men - Little Talks
A great Icelandic band. Which was recommended to me from an unlikely individual (who has mainstream tastes and I didn't expect an obscure gem from).

This recently spread to mainstream radio around here (Baltimore-DC area in the US). They have been playing the crap out of it on the college and independent stations for a month or two now.

I'm not surprised. I also feel like I had heard the band name before I had actually listened to the music.Kaharz wrote:This recently spread to mainstream radio around here (Baltimore-DC area in the US). Bonobo - El Toro
I don't remember who introduced me to Bonobo but they are clearly a kind and intelligent person who should be listened to.

Caribou - Odessa
Dude's Canadian and has been getting some press for opening for Radiohead on this upcoming tour.

That song still gives me chills when I listen to it. I did want to see Radiohead during their tour here, but they were only having shows in the east cost, and the tickets sold out within less than an hour of being announced.

Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? [REMIX]
That's the problem with Radiohead. Their tickets are expensive, and its pretty much a crapshoot as to whether you'll get them. This is probably the first tour that I did hear about it in time for me to plan to at least make a good effort to get them, but I opted against it. Someday, I hope.Sahan wrote:That song still gives me chills when I listen to it. Same here. It's on the list of things I definitely want to do once in my lifetime.
Band of Skulls - Lay My Head Down
Still of the opinion Sweet Sour is going to be the best album release of the year. I love every single song from this, both the harder rock songs and the ballads and those that fall in between.
