Ah, people were discussing the plight of Peter Garrett (the lead singer of Midnight Oil turned politician) at the party I was at tonight. Every election time, he somehow disappears off the radar.
Mysterious.

Wasn't he given some kind of position to do with the environment when Rudd was first elected? That's the last time I heard about him anyways.

Wikipedia wrote:He has been an Australian Labor Party member of the House of Representatives for the seat of Kingsford Smith, New South Wales, since October 2004. After the Labor Party won in the November 2007 election, Garrett was appointed Minister for the Environment, Heritage and the Arts by Prime Minister Kevin Rudd.[2] On 8 March 2010, following a restructure of the Department of the Environment, Garrett was sworn in as Minister for Environment Protection, Heritage and the Arts.[3]
Except unfortunately he failed to crack down on logging of Tasmania's forests, and gave the go ahead to do some dredging and channel deepening at Port Phillip bay which was likely to cause environmental problems.
So he's not really that well liked right now.

Hey Apoc your last two posts in this thread are mysteriously missing the songs that are required to be present. Not sure what's going on there, you might want to look into it.

Well that's disappointing. I'd have expected better from him.
