I don't like the smell of fish. It repulses me so much, I refuse to eat it.

Ya see, my nose doesn't work very well, yet the overpowering odor of fish practically makes me gag.

My sister is the same.

Oh how we mock her.

You guys have already mocked my strange eating habits before, so I wouldn't be too upset.

It's more of a physical motion she made once while complaining about fish.

We just repeat that.

I like deep-fried halibut a lot, and more importantly it doesn't smell like fish (which I do not care for either).

Frankly, I would question your Britishness if you didn't.

It's difficult to not like fish and chips.

I found a way. It was surprisingly easy.

Fish and chips is how I get my halibut rations. There's a nice store just a couple of blocks from my house. Cod is pretty expensive, because they don't allow Newfies to fish for it any more, I believe (which is why they are all on welfare).

They recently banned the catching of Grouper in Florida, due to overfishing. I didn't know it was that popular.

Meeeeee. In Australia we usually use flake* (and sometimes blue grenadier) and it's pretty delicious. I don't think I've ever tried cod or herring though.
The best fish and chips I ever had was in New Zealand, where they had sweet potato chips yummmm. But no dim sims :(

*that's right we're so badass we eat shark meat on a regular basis

I think it's only badass if you catch the shark.

My understanding is that if the fish has a strong odour, it really isn't very fresh, and definitely isn't going to be great.

Whenever I go to the supermarket, the fish section has banners proclaiming that the fish were "Caught Today!" and "Sourced Locally". And it doesn't smell that much.

This may because I live on an island which is never more than 76 miles from the sea.

Maybe that's why mage doesn't love fish? Because he doesn't live near enough the sea that it's always fresh?
