It was very early in the morning, the streets clean and deserted, I was on my way to the station. As I compared the tower clock with my watch I realized it was much later than I had thought and that I had to hurry; the shock of this discovery made me feel uncertain of the way, I wasn't very well acquainted with the town as of yet; fortunately, there was a policeman at hand, I ran to him and breathlessly asked him the way. He smiled and said: "You are asking me the way?" "Yes," I said, "since I can't find it myself." "Give it up! Give it up!" said he, and turned with a sudden jerk, like someone who wants to be alone with his laughter.

That guy is totally crawling toward the icon of God while Big Brother is looking down at him, man. Pretty cool.

Oh, art, how I love that I can just draw some nonsense floating around my head and the viewers will reveal it's meaning to me.

I really just slapped some stuff down. The only connection I had in mind was that the eye should be melting a guy. Other than that I just drew the cross for fun, and the tree thing for fun and the wave shadow thing for fun.

Ah, maybe I shouldn't tell people that so I can keep up the facade of existentialism in my art, haha.

Btw, what book/short story is that passage from? It sounds ballin'.

Hahah, I was actually struggling to come up with something deep and meaningful and that was the best I could do. Other than that all I can really think was that it was damn cool, and it meant something to me but I can't really put my finger on it at all.

That's a short story by Franz Kafka, entitled "Give it Up!" That's the whole thing. Truly a legendary man, not befit to spend old age among humans, especially if they are Jewish holocaust victims*.

*The joke is that Kafka was a German Jew who felt alienated by both groups, and died of tuberculosis at the age of 40 shortly before the Nazis rise to power', and they totally killed the rest of his family. Now that I think about it, that wasn't funny at all.

I'm considering getting a tablet. I like the idea of being able to undo some of my lines. I know you could use light blue pencil, and then you get all those erasers and professional drawing pads and crap, but I'm not into it.

MY birthday's on Friday, so I'm considering splurging. I don't know how well I'd actually do once I break one out.
