Pooh is a bear of very little brain.

Don't follow his example.

Yeah, I don't know.
Police said they spent some time working out if they could charge the man with being armed with a weapon, as technically he was armed with part of a fish.

Code: Select all

This mask I wear
I grow weary of it
I long for my expression
To match how I feel

But I’ve become too attached
I wish to take it off
Yet despite my longing
I would not dare

Few know I wear one
Fewer know what lies beneath
For I have always feared it
And kept it hidden

This mask has shielded me
When the hunters attacked
And hidden me safely
In the refuge of the night

But if you’d dare face me again
I beg you to unmask me
And see for yourself
How I shine in your light

Here's some poetry from me (if you can call it that). It's pretty crappy. Hope you like it.
I feel like I could rework this in a lot of different ways but at the same time I kind of like it the way it is. Please give me suggestions for improvement.

Code: Select all

I don't know you, you don't know me
we are all alone
we are all alone

I sit in wait straining for a glimpse of you
(everything will be alright)
waiting for the empty footsteps
it is growing dark.

Swirling people rumble on through their lives
as I sit on the steps in wait for you
I am all alone.

Night is fading day is dawning
the sun trudges in a tired circle above me
urging me on
yet still I sit, all alone.

I wait eagerly earnestly,
for the dawn of tomorrow, when you shall come again
I sit in silence as I fade away

The sun dissolves all the sun fades away the sun is reborn and the sun will not die.
I am dust and ashes a swirling wind of broken dreams and impossible hopes
doomed to die convinced of their nobility
I am nothing.

A world that cannot be, a far better person than me
rides away further further each day
As I walk in dreams (lies) sleep in sweet sorrow
I am all alone (dear?)

Seeing no one knowing nothing everyday lives are all consuming
ever reaching for the day when you will walk around the corner
we are all alone.

What would it be like to cry sincerely
My ex girlfriend asked me
Like this, I said, and slapped her silly.
Please, someone. Pay bail.

Off I ride into the horizon
Donned my armor, on my noble steed.
Hoodie pulled over my head, driving my dad's station wagon
My minstrel, my radio, plays to the tune of Creed.
I'm off to save a princess, some whore down by the sea.
I'm off to slay some dragons, those pests called Sadness and loneliness.

I shave my first nervously in the air.
Angry at the birds that pooped in my hair.
Truly this is proof that life isn't fair.
You swear you'll kill it, but do you dare?
Just like an std, will never fully go away.

That was magical, Ahmet. I think you have a future in slam poetry and hip-hop.

The last line of the third one just rubs me wrong for some reason, but the first two poems were pretty damned good.

you say your cake's delicious
mine turned to tar and fuzz in my mouth
you're walking on air and I'm coated in sand
everyone at this party says I didn't take enough
there's a wall in front that I just can't climb
I'm lifesblind and go to pour another drink
my stomach instructs me when it's time to vomit
flywheel loose
cold hands direct me to the washroom
walls struggle to suffocate me as they guide my feet
there's fuzz lodged in my mouth and nothing will clear it out
ceiling of smoke falling over me
hands trying to choke me
drowning in tar
as it sticks to my skin
won't let me be free
I'd rather sink in ice water

Last night's efforts to stave off sleep

Code: Select all

So now I stand upon the edge
Hiding in a fog so dense
Wishing I had used my head
And silenced not my heart

Deceived myself with hopeful tales
And the wondrous things they would entail
But the winds have torn through my sails
Left me stranded without map or chart

When I saw my home I turned away
As the currents dragged me back their way
For I thought I spied a sparkling bay
When the heavy clouds did part

And now my truth it tastes of lies
False offerings to gods in the skies
Watching with indifferent eyes
All the chaos underneath

I wish now more than I deserve
And under who would I now serve?
If I could somehow prove my worth
And have you sail to me

I desire too much, of that I know
For how much pain would you forego
To take a chance when I don’t know
If I could leave the sea

If I left this wreck and swam to land
Body bruised and covered in sand
Life would continue as once was planned
In a now so distant dream

But if I finally salvaged me
Would I not still cry out for the sea
And its heaving storms that ruined me
As I lay in peaceful sleep

So now I stand upon the edge
Shrouded by a fog so dense
Wishing I had used my head
And silenced not my heart.
