[2011-May-23] zach is unoriginal

I count that as miscegenation, unfortunately. Ah, sadness, for Zach had just to withhold his racemixing one more day and I would've stayed. But no.
I depart. This is my final post.
May the ideals of the French Revolution always live on in your souls, fellow space negroes.
Oh, and one final message:

Re: Today's Comic
Why would somebody who says 'space negroes' ever think that we don't know he's trolling?

Look at him, just standing there with a can of gasoline and a match...
I imagine both comics were inspired by the same not so difficult to make observation. Most people think they are unique and superior to the majority of other people.

Re: Today's Comic
Does it count as trolling when they are really bad at it? Would you tell someone you kicked their ass when they didn't even flinch?

I've often trolled by pretending to be really bad at trolling

I would like to point out, that the first panel has a grammatical error. It should say, "as I" not "as me."

Who gives a fuck? That's some guy's thought bubble, that pretty much means it's just true to its source material.

Perhaps the author knew that grammatically the sentence should read, "as I," but wanted to point out how flawed the character's premise is.

Re: #2254 [2011-May-23]
It's actually definitely "as me". Standard English takes the same pronouns for prepositional case as in objective case, and "as" is being used as a preposition in this sentence, rather than as a conjunction (ex. "as I am"). Some people mistakenly replace many instances of "me" with "I", which is a very common example of hypercorrection. Moreover, if that fact were somehow not true, it would still be totally irrelevant, as people use both in colloquial language, and it may very well happen that one form will supplant the other in the future. In fact, many speakers do not even agree on this, so the question is entirely moot, but if we're following very technical and made-up rules it should be "as me". Not like I would kick up a fuss if he used either one.whoa wrote:I would like to point out, that the first panel has a grammatical error. It should say, "as I" not "as me."
EDIT: Fuck you for making me use prescriptive linguistics!
