I think this is the first SMBC comic that I've ever not understood, so now I'm going to whine about it.
I'm not getting Zach's point here. Is the guy in the comic saying that somehow the nature/nurture debate wore him down? Or are those monsters supposed to actually represent nature and society wearing him down? If it's the latter, why the hell would society cause him to have arthritis and broken teeth? Wouldn't those things all be attributed to nature?

Nature aged his body, society made him crotchety and bitter.
Paranoid? Probably. But just because you're paranoid doesn't mean that there isn't an invisible demon
about to eat your face.

I like how it was nurture that actually broke things, but nature still f'd him up.

I'd go around beating people up too, if my parents gave me such a filthy hippy name.

So being old is basically like Logan's Run. When you reach a certain age, a bunch of guys chase you and want you dead.

Unlikely hippy, you'd have those weak bean sprout arms from the pasta they serve you every night. You'd throw a swing and my steak powered chest would crumple your hand.Eisbreaker wrote:I'd go around beating people up too, if my parents gave me such a filthy hippy name.

This is why old people stay safely in their homes and try to keep kids off their lawn.
