[2011-Oct-04] Huge mystery solved
Re: [2011-Oct-04] Huge mystery solved
Isn't the point of those boring Reddit comics for the reader to be like, "Oh yeah, that totally happens to me all the time!" ie, they're things we all experience and can relate to, meaning the joke is inherently NOT original? (Nevermind the fact that calling ANYTHING on reddit original is kind of a joke on its own.) I feel like it's entirely possible Zach thought this joke up all by himself without having to rely on Reddit for inspiration. Somehow millions of other people do it.

It's the implication of this post that makes it awesome.Kimra wrote:I reckon he can be forgiven for not reading every thread that replies to every internet meme ever. Seriously. That's the sort of thing people with no life do. >_>

Even if the joke has been done somewhat before, it really has been improved upon here. And I doubt that Zach really read that particular reddit comic before. It's an inherent risk of making jokes about 'it happens all the time' stuff. Only way to prevent a accidental 'copy' is to stop this webcomic altogether.

I love the Zach cheerleaders. They brighten my day. So do humorous gifs of people falling over.

I love folks who think that having an unoriginal idea equals plagiarism. They're almost as amusing as folks who think that something can't be well executed unless it's original.

And now, in order to avoid plagiarism, no-one else can follow suit and like them too. You have just destroyed turtle conservation and breeding programs around the world, Kimra, because no-one else likes them now. I hope you are happy.
