[2011-Oct-21] Philosophical Zombies

Erm, Zach, I think you may be confusing "dead" for "too damaged to sustain life without external support until repaired by external forces." If we went by the definition of "dead" implied by this comic, comatose patients on life support would be "dead."

Hey, loads of parts of coma patients still work.

Like their kidneys. The dead don't even have that.

That one wasn't as popular as some of Nirvana's other songs.
Police said they spent some time working out if they could charge the man with being armed with a weapon, as technically he was armed with part of a fish.

And those people who have their heads cut off by the guillotine? Not dead until they stop blinking.

We have come such a long way from the guillotine, now the only countries that kill its citizens pump their veins full of poison or crush them with stones.

The way God intended!
Paranoid? Probably. But just because you're paranoid doesn't mean that there isn't an invisible demon
about to eat your face.

I'm really glad this appeared in SMBC!

The procedure is actually "cryonics." "Cryogenics," as far as I can tell, is the whole practice of freezing and reviving living tissue as a whole, including just organs and things. The practice of freezing an entire person is "cryonics."

So sorry to be a big evil stickler about this!

Aw, I can tell you're upset.
Do you need a shoulder to cryon?

Is it just me? or did we miss a day of comics?

Also, on topic:
^you, mr. "I'm going to tell really bad puns", I'm calling a freeze on all puns. They make my brain hurt.

Also, I have to wonder about that topical cream -- DMT based? could DMT be absorbed through the skin?

I imagine it was intentional, good sir. He was performing what is colloquially known as "a mario", where a person "one-ups" another.

Does DMT dissolve in DMSO?
