I like that the dad appears to be playing a video game using a lime.

I'm supposing it might be a reference to Nietzsche's Übermensch. People sometimes translate it as "Superman" but it can also be translated as "Overman".tobias wrote:What's an overman?

It made me forget who I am. Or maybe I just never knew? I don't remember...

And Harun al Rashid skinned the poor man and wore his hide for he had no shirt.
the moral is: stay away from Harun al Rashid.

There are plenty of studies that show wealth (above a certain minimum amount) is not correlated with happiness.
Here is one:

Is Zach saying that upper middle class is the minimum wealth amount? That sounds unlikely. Maybe there is still a positive correlation above "poor", but the factors that other studies tell us are important start to have a much larger weight: health, personal relationships, and beliefs.

It's a similar sentiment.
Police said they spent some time working out if they could charge the man with being armed with a weapon, as technically he was armed with part of a fish.

Past around ~ $70k-80k a year, (in the USA) income no longer significantly affects happiness. The super rich also tend to be considerably busier and less capable of spending time on leisure activities.Smokefoot wrote:There are plenty of studies that show wealth (above a certain minimum amount) is not correlated with happiness.

$70k-80k a year is pretty much upper middle class in the USA.

Personally, I'm all in favour of apartheid for the Real Posters and the unregistered because, unlike historical apartheid which was unfair, this is entirely justified, plus the unregistered can always become Real Posters.

Being kinky is when you tickle your girlfriend's anus with a feather, being perverted is when you bypass that hassle and just start humping chickens.

More or less this, depending on where you live and what your expenses are. The key is that people make enough money to easily provide for decent housing, food, entertainment, etc are typically not made happier by having even more money. It really depends on how you define "upper middle class."meow? wrote:Past around ~ $70k-80k a year, (in the USA) income no longer significantly affects happiness.
