Speaking of racism that Mary sure is white for a Hebrew woman from the middle east in Roman times.

I think his point was that there are in fact black people on starships in these shows, not that racism doesn't exist.
EDIT: Also, how did you miss Uhura? Incidentally the first interracial kiss on American television was on TOS, so not all sci-fi is racist. Although Star Trek hella is sometimes.
