How delightful.

This comic is wrong about one thing: mince pies. Mince pies are surely the exception to this Christmas rule.

I was disappointed as a child, and still am to some extent as a man. Mince pies. I like savoury things really, preferable to sweet in my opinion. So mince, delightful beef or pork, a tasty treat, turns out to be fruit or something? fuck's sake. So that's my tale. Please continue this great oral history by telling it to your children and grandchildren

I remember having a similar experience when I was in the UK last Christmas. Mince pies aren't great, but they'd be okay if it weren't for the horribly misleading title that lures the uninformed.

My mother had the opposite experience once, because for some reason she likes the sweet mince pies. She went to Greg's and bought a very large mince pie that turned out to be meat. But that only happened once, I have to deal with not having a meat pie ALL SEASON LONG

Apparently the original "mince" from mince pies had both fruit and meat in it.
I like mince pies, but I think I'm going to have to try to make a more traditional mince pie one day because I'm really curious as to how it would taste.

I look back? Is that what you're trying to say?
Because if you're implying I won't be photoshoot-ready on my death bed, you're wrong mister.

I didn't know mince pies had such a controversial history either. Consider me fascinated.

I'm okay with sweet pies, but mince pies are totally gross. I kept on mistaking them for something delicious in my childhood and every christmas experienced the horror of having to get the sultana-y taste out of my mouth

Have you ever had a home-made one? They taste a lot better than the supermarket ones.

Do home made ones still have sultanas? If so, then they are probably still disgusting to me

Depends who's making them! You could make your own delicious, sultana free ones.
