[2013-Aug-01] Zach made xkcd reference!

Post by Danes »

Since I'm new here, I don't know very well about the rules.

After searching "xkcd" in this forum, I concluded that xkcd is not very respected here. However, The Rules of the Forum says
The Rules of the Forum wrote:21-2. Zach is also infallible. When he makes mistakes, they're done on purpose to make you feel better about yourself.
So I think I feel better about myself. Thanks, Zach!

Didn't he already do a hidden-punctuation based joke like a year ago?

I think "You draw, like Randal Monroe" is meant as an example of the same idea but with an insult instead of a compliment.

I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to be an insult; when they do guest comic weeks they do each others' comics. xkcd has been pretty influential as far as proving that there is a market for comedy that touches on areas of physics, philosophy, etc, that the average person might not be familiar with. He's paying homage to another great illustrator. =P

I can't draw a good stick myself, so I'll go with it.
Continual disappointment is the spice of life.

I probably can't draw them as well as him. But 'great' is a stretch as an adjective.

He conveys those so-called 'emotions' pretty well with balls and sticks. Doesn't waste internet ink.

Takes more energy to illuminate a white screen than a black one, brah. The whitespace is the internet ink and munroe uses quite a bit of it.
Ask the next question.

If you are still using a CRT. There is almost no power consumption difference for LCDs between displaying white or black. Depending on the monitor and settings, either one could be slightly more efficient.
