Special.

So, uhm.... is it just me, and I'm missing some subtle joke? Or are the speech bubbles in the last panel the wrong way round?

It's just a weak joke. Though the mixed up speech bubbles makes it at least mildly entertaining in a stupid, non-sequitor sort of way.

I'm pretty sure Zack made a hilarious mistake in the last panel:

Considering the votee, I'd agree it was a mistake.

Does anyone else think this comic was made because of the criticism of the "induction" in the party one?

That's what I thought upon first reading it.

I can't wait until SMBC is nothing but bad induction "jokes".

If more than one person in the set is special only by virtue of being the only non-special person, then they're not really special, because there are multiple people with this property.

I came here to say that! 2 non special people and 1 special clearly works.

For his next trick, Zach will show us with induction that all horses are the same color.

Outside of trying to make it induction—this is pretty close to Russell's Paradox. :v

It's more like the well-known joke proof that all numbers are interesting; in fact it's so similar that I assumed Zach was thinking of that when he wrote the comic.

Unfortunately, he's not really good at math, and the proof doesn't work with unordered set elements.

Maybe Zach is good at math and just bad at jokes

He's good at jokes and bad at induction jokes. I probably wouldn't trust him to prove something by induction.

That's nonsense, the smallest uninteresting natural number is 4. Being the smallest uninteresting number doesn't make it any more interesting than the fact that it's a perfect square. It's just not interesting. Unless it's applied to mutant ninjas.
