Maybe someone's already said this, but this comic is not correct about the origin of Potemkin Village. While the Soviets also certainly used this kind of false front to make things look better than they were, the origin is much older. Grigory Potemkin (supposedly) made the Potemkin village to impress the Tsar in 1787.

The comic doesn't actually say what the origin of the Potemkin Village was.
