The dragon's hierarchy of needs is similar to that of my cat, who, having been neutered, goes around muttering, "Food. Then sleep. Then food. Then sleep." Its younger and more animated pal goes, "Annoy the other cat. Then go outside and kill something. Then annoy the other cat. Then food. Then annoy the other cat. Then sleep."

1. If solitary animals hoard useless "precious metals", the only plausible explanation is sexual selection. The same explanation can be used for being able to enjoy riddles.

3. If unicorns are immortal, when for most of human history they could observe there were no people other than blacks.
