You can drop the sheet, honey. It's your husband, he's seen it all before.
Who uses a condom for a blowjob?

In case anyone else remembered seeing something like it before.

People who don't want to get or transmit herpes and HPV, duh.

From her husband. Well, okay, I suppose trust is not a strong suit in this family. His brother? A bit more of a risk, maybe, but not like bringing home a stray from the bar.

About 80% of humans have lip (facial) herpes (many get it from their parents before they are 1 year old) and 20-30% of adults have genital herpes, married or not. The two types of herpes can cross over with no problems during forms of sex that involve getting the face near someone's genitals. Herpes never goes away, there is no treatment.
HPV I don't remember the percentage, but it's also chronic and doesn't go away if I remember correctly. In contrast to Herpes we at least have a vaccine for two (or is it four now?) of the most dangerous (cancer-causing) variants (of which there are ... 18 I think).
Dental dams and condoms significantly reduce the risk of transmission to and from your loved ones and random strays you pick up from bars.

I think what you mean to say is, there is no cure. There certainly is treatment, and has been for many years. While you're sending out your warning, you might also advise your readers about Valacyclovir and its less effective sister, Acyclovir. Without statistics at hand and being uninterested enough to check yours, I'll assume they are correct. Perhaps I'm slipping between the odds. I've managed to make it to age 64 without using dams or condoms for oral sex and with no repercussions therefrom. For certain periods in my life, this is undoubtedly due partly to blind luck; but for the rest, I think we can attribute mutual monogamy. Not the most adventurous lifestyle, true, but it has its rewards, freedom from latex being one. Whatever the case and risks, I cannot imagine either giving or receiving oral stimulation through a barrier, and would probably forego the experience if one were required. You have my condolences.

There's also the fact that Herpes is asymptomatic, like, 80% of the time, and then mostly cosmetic when it's not. HPV causes f-ing cancer. So, yeah, you should wear a condom to prevent HPV. Also HIV (especially if you already have herpes.)

So, are you herpes-averse folks using a latex dam for your kissing, too?
