Is this a joke?

It doesn't read like a joke, but it both drawn incorrectly (a^2 + b^2 = c^2 means c should be the hypotenuse of the overall triangle, instead a is given as the hypotenuse) and worded *exceedingly* poorly (define "area given by" better, as it is you're making us imagine literal squares, which aren't demonstrated by the diagram at all)
