I couldn't live in the country. I need the noise to go to sleep.

Re: Who's your favorite author?
I actually have a long list of reasons I would rather live in Toronto than Manitoba, currently topping the list is the fact TIFF just ended. But also a lot of my favourite bands are based out of Toronto, along with just the general perks of living in a large city, such as larger movie/music selection, more shows come to Toronto, etc...LordRetard wrote:I definitely don't see what's so bad about living in the big city. If there is something so terrible that you cannot stand living, yet must visit; then you can live in the suburbs, easily.

Also you could join a gang. Like if it was the 70s and New York.
I have recently seen The Warriors and would like to join their gang.

'Come out to PLAY-AYYY!'
Edit: Ahaha Cirtur, I see what you did there. Very clever. We all already know you want to join Gary Glitter's paedophile gang.

You may have known it unconsciously, but as Freud says, I would need to attach it to an element of emotion connected to reality for it to surface in your ego.

The boys from the University of Maryland ruined Freud for me.

But that's not what Freud is about.

Re: Who's your favorite author?
Favourite authors, eh?
The problem is that I haven't gotten a chance to pursue other books by some authors that I rather like* (Adams, for example). So I've basically only read one book by them, and then they don't really count as favourite authors, do they? I mean, I love Ken Follett's Pillars of the Earth series, but he isn't a favourite because I have little interest in anything other than those two books.
I used to like Tom Clancy (I didn't mind the long-windedness and tech aspects, as you can skip them if you aren't in the mood), but Teeth of the Tiger pretty nearly ruined everything he has done.
Really, the only two I can think of that fit would be Chuck Palahniuk and Douglas Coupland.
*Alas, I've never changed my identification to my current address because I'm hardly settled long term and my parents still live in the house my ID is linked to, so I just leave it. Unfortunately, the fact that I'm no longer a student, and don't have identification linking me to an address in Hamilton, I'm not allowed to renew my library card. I may try again and bring in my old student ID and a recent phone bill.

Jane Austin gets added to my list. And I've only read four of her books.

She only published about six, though didn't she? So you can pretty much say you've read most of her books

It's not the same. Besides who needs the archive online when I've got it on my computer anyway?LordRetard wrote:The archive is still there, and Three Panel Soul still updates.Kimra wrote:I miss MacHall. Where did it go?

Hey, I'm defending you against... yourself. You just enjoy portraying yourself badly, don't you? DON'T YOU?

If you insult yourself fast enough no body else has a chance to. It's all a protective measure hidden behind layers of stupid.Apocalyptus wrote:Hey, I'm defending you against... yourself. You just enjoy portraying yourself badly, don't you? DON'T YOU?
