(not casting judgement on you just 'cause you live in a small town, though)
No, I am in total agreement, I moved here from Vancouver when I was twelve. I hate it, but I don't have the job skills to start from scratch in a city. Mom loves it here, but I'm not as willing to be friends with people who would turn me away if I was more obviously Indian, or Islamic, or gay. Also, everyone likes the Black Eyed Peas here.
Out of curiosity, where abouts in Canadia are you? Are you still in BC? I'm assuming you are because if you had gone as far west at the prairies you'd be saying country instead of Black Eyed Peas.

Nah, I live in northern sis-cat-chew-wan now. My town recently got a third radio station (pretty much nothing but Canadian and Saskatchewan top forty hits), so everyones still really excited to have something other then country and CBC talk to listen to. I don't even want to think about how often i hear teenage girls singing "My Humps" with the radio. *shudder*

I am totally cool with this myself. Not that I actually like Black Eyed Peas.

It's just an objectionably good song.

Not wanting to listen to CBC all day? I don't understand this mentality.

The stupidity* and polka was getting to me. Now I just download Quirks and Quarks.

*one of the male anchors consistently pronounces ten cent words wrong. This pains me.

CBC Saskatchewan plays polka? I'm only one province over and we never hear anything like that. I'm not sure if I should be jealous or just highly amused.

That song is only acceptable when it is sung by Alanis Morissette

So ironic it transcends irony itself.

I'm so proud! You used ironic in a context that could be said to be suitable for the actual meaning of the word!!!

I always knew that Alanis Morissette could work miracles (after all, she is God)

Middle-school English teachers have special dispensation regarding getting indignant about the use of the word Ironic. If you're going to continue to do so, miss, I'm going to need to see some credentials.

Maybe you should consider a career in teaching middle school English.
