Why is everyone picking on Howard these days? Sure he made mistakes, but he had amusingly large eyebrows and he talked to the Chaser's while jogging.

Hmm... well I'm just going to say that as a student, and as someone who is not a fan of xenophobia or employees being ripped off, I was never too fond of his actions when in office.

The media has given a lot of hype to the employee disadvantages of Work Choices, but if you examine it a lot of people got a better deal from it. You had the opportunity to negotiate your own individual terms and whatnot, and the thing is if you had seen some horrible employees you wouldn't wonder why they gave more hiring and firing choice. Plus, market mechanisms work more efficiently when the labour market is fluid, and work choices increased its fluidity. The media has done a wonderful job of ignoring advantages
