Royal wishes to claim the deck of cards, hoping to build some sort of theme around random knick-knacks that clearly have to real use.
Royal makes his wishes known by grabbing the deck of cards violently from the pile, then waving his sword around with a slight wager.

"Oi, Royal! You want a cut of the loot as well?"

"Indeed I do. Excuse my lacking of social skills, I'm a hermit."

Seraphin tosses 20 dublooneans to Royal.

Royal attempts to hide the slabs of beef he found nearby.

"What is this now, twenty questions?" Mr Snuffleupagus pulls out his sword and places it menacingly at hostage2's neck.
"Tell it to us straight now, we're trying find ourselves some standards, can you help us or not?"

you don't have a sword. Maybe you can intimidate him with your fruity bard music. Also, if you look at the map, you can see where the party is in relationship to where the standard was stolen.
