Whoa hey yourself shiny exo-skeletal guy!

LordRetard - If it was any other number I would disagree in saying that I was always existing within a sphere of solitude and my space was being invaded by others - just so happens that my space included SMBC :)

BUT - the fact that the number 666 haunts me makes me think I need to listen to ye...It is everywhere, all around me!

I'm in-and-out, but it'll take me a while to get back to my regular haunts...

It's true that I tend to be a herald of bad omens.

Okay, I've given it some thought, and I don't think I'm going to allow you to co-opt other fictional characters like that. Grabbing historical figures is one thing, because the character you're playing will by definition be a fictionalized version of whomever they're based on; this is different, in that there's not much left to fictionalize. (I had debated including Phillip Marlowe as an NPC, but decided against it for the same reason.) Now, that's not to say you can't rip off other fictional characters. For instance, if you changed Dick Tracy's name to Shamus Paddington* and tweaked a few details about his background, I'd be fine with it.

You didn't actually ask for suggestions, but I am going to a couple some anyway. That's all these are, so feel free to disregard them at your leisure.
PRESENTED IN SPOILERVISION WHERE AVAILABLE:
For a special feature, you might consider Law Enforcement Powers: You have legitimate legal authority. When you flash your badge, most people suddenly become very cooperative. When you show up at a crime scene or an evidence locker, rookie cops will trip over themselves letting you in. And if you find yourself in a tight spot, you can always call for backup on your two-way wrist radio!)
A good skill to have would probably be Perception. This would cover Search, Listen, and Spot rolls in 3rd Ed. D&D.

*When I came up with that name, I thought Paddington Bear wore a yellow slicker. Apparently he doesn't. Domage.

Aw, lameeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. If I can't pick Dick Tracy (created in 1931) to play in a 1932 RPG, then count me out. Or, count me in once I think of another one.

Will I be too lazy to think of another one? Tune in to find out.

"Big" John Warren, Mob Thug
Special Ability-Gigantism (Unusual size and toughness grants you +1 HP. In addition, on physical attack rolls, a certain margin of success [TBD by Oldrac, master of games] does 2 damage to your target.)

I guess I'll add more later, too lazy to write up bio right now anyway (and I guess I should be studying).

Isn't that a little overpowered? Especially considering as how everyone only has two hit points?

Just my two cents, but I think the Gigantism power would be better served by giving you two extra hit points (possibly a better to-hit roll, but I dunno), and leave it at that.

Point taken. Oldrac has the final call, then.

Miriam "Mimi" Harelow
Special Feature: Persuasion
Class: Actress
Skills: + Dancing
+ Photographic Memory
[Other skill?]
????

Talkies are going to be great for Miriam Harelow, she's sure of it. While she has yet to break into Hollywood, her seductive voice has gotten her many interviews with casting directors...who never end up giving her the lead, but she's always the best extra on set, they promise. And, they would still love to see her. Maybe she will get the lead, next time. Mimi is certain that she is destined for greatness, and if you were to listen to her, you would believe it, as well.
