Re: The NFL Thread
Just my luck that this is the one thread that manages to stay on topic for three pages.
Police said they spent some time working out if they could charge the man with being armed with a weapon, as technically he was armed with part of a fish.

Re: The NFL Thread
I'm gonna go ahead and guess that's because the normal thread de-railers don't like football?Oldrac the Chitinous wrote:Just my luck that this is the one thread that manages to stay on topic for three pages.
Anyway, since I'm still new here, who do you guys root for?
I was born and raised in New England so I've been a Patriots fan since before the Brady era (that Superbowl loss to Green Bay was almost as disappointing as the 18-1 season). As far as NFC teams go I like the Bears, although the Falcons have piqued my interest now that they have Matt Ryan (BC's hero) and have allowed Michael Turner to emerge from LT's shadow.

I'm a football fan and I've derailed a thread or two since coming. But I watch the CFL, I don't know a thing about the NFL. Your slightly smaller fields and more downs scare me.

Re: The NFL Thread
I have no team. I've only really started following it for the last 6 or 7 years, particularly the last 4, where I've been involved in fantasy leagues.
I have some support for the Bills out of proximity, but most of my allegiance lies with whoever I think looks good and interesting to watch. Last year it was the Broncos. It was New Orleans a few years ago.

Re: The NFL Thread
Most people refer to the NFL as American Football, might as well call futbol/soccer/football "International Football", only seems fair.mountainmage wrote:That's futbol. Also, it's boring. Re: The NFL Thread
I am hoping the Eagles are cooking up some kind of weird two quarterback offense for Michael Vick and Donovan McNabb. Like have Vick as a running back who passes all the time or something.
I don't really watch that much football, but I like it when teams win in weird ways.

Today, the Green Bay Packers footballed harder than all the other clubs.
That is all.

Are you sure they footballed harder? Maybe they didn't football as hard as other teams, but they footballed more efficiently?
