[2011-Sep-15] Distract 23 Nerds
HOLY CRAP I HAVE BEEN LOOKING AT STUFF THROUGH MY FINGERS FOR 40 MINUTES NOW.
It's like goddamn magic. Fuck you, glasses! I don't need you anymore! The glasses were a part of me all along!

Am I missing something here? Should I see my nose now or what?

I can keep my eyes focused on the tip of my nose with both my eyes open. It starts to hurt my eyes after a while, but I can totally do it.

I feel this is the sort of question that can not be dginified with an answer, unless the answer comes in the form of a equally pointless youtube clip. http://youtu.be/PetqKh7lr8gsuperppl wrote:Did Zach draw himself as a chick in this comic?

I wish I could open youtube clips in full view at work

I don't use glasses but I still have no idea what the comic is about, if I can actually see my nose, and if I'm really supposed to hold my arm in the awkward angle implied by the second panel.

I'm... throughly impressed anyone has attempted to do this at all. I figured the whole point was it's bullshit and they'd all waste their time trying to make it work. Just like... all you guys?

I did try the pin hole thing, being near sighted and all, and that does work. I did not try to look at nose because it was immediately obvious that I would not be able to see it.

I actually felt kind of compelled to try it...but I didn't. It reminds me of the facebook posts that kind of go like this:
1: When you look up at the ceiling you can't stick out your tongue! It's anatomically impossible.
2: You are trying it now
3: and discovered it is false
4: congrats, you looked like an idiot

This another one of many scenarios where my laziness has saved me from potential embarrassment. I didn't believe it, but I decided to keep reading rather than test it .

Not seen here: the last step where they use the laser to manufacture pinhole glasses and sell them to the nerds, marketing them with the slogan "Enables you to focus your own nose!"
Profit!
Profit!

Re: [2011-Sep-15] Distract 23 Nerds
I did feel compelled to try it too, just to see how impossible it was to do with my fingers.
Then I did it the way I discovered it in high school : looking through a hole in my watch's strap. And I saw my nose, less blurry than usual, and felt satisfied.
Unless all the relevant nerds switched to checking the time on their cellphones, this comic is unrealistic.
Also, I can lick my own elbow.
