I shaved my mustache. Not sure if I like it gone yet or not, but I won't have to trim it for a while.
Just like an std, will never fully go away.

Re: Why don't you shave?
So I stopped shaving at the end of last year.
Which sounds more lengthy than it is, naturally.
I essentially skipped the first week and at the second I just decided to let it ride.
It's roughly three weeks right now.
What I've realized is I can grow a passable moustache, some good chin hair (I did already know that), but that's pretty much it.
A nice bald spot running diagonally on my right side from my mouth to my mid-jaw makes any mutton chops ridiculous looking, sadly. I also can't grow anything else around my mouth aside from the aforementioned bits, plus a a very minor soul patch.
So, after some trimming and the like I've left my 'stache and the chin hair (as well as a slight soul patch that I've been sporting for some time*).
I'm calling it the Vlad, as it is the same facial hair as Lenin sports in some pictures (this is accentuated by the fact that I have a shorn head). Though my chin hair is less connected to the soul patch and my chin hair is less robust (and is located primarily on the edge and underside of my chin).
Anyways, this is the closest thing I've had to facial hair*. I'm giving it until the morning to decide whether it will remain. It looks good with a hat, but I'm not sure about it with my hair as is**. I'm going to crop the top of my head shorter tomorrow and decide from there.
*This is not to mention my pretty great sideburns, which I've had for more than a decade.
** With a hat it is an accentuation of my face. Without it becomes the focal point and it isn't impressive enough to not look foolish, perhaps. We shall see.

Re: Why don't you shave?
Beards are awesome. I shave my neck regularly, because who wants a neck beard? But shaving the rest of my face? No thanks. A pair of scissors and five minutes in front of the mirror once every couple weeks (Less if my wife takes over) and I'm ready to go. It keeps my face warm in the winter and, if I trim it down, doesn't bother me much in the summer. I don't have to worry about razor cuts or shaving bumps anymore. My beard grows in full, thick, and I've got two grey stripes down the sides of my chin my wife says makes me look like a badger. I'm pretty young for grey hair, I blame the job.
I don't shave because I hate shaving and I actually look pretty decent with a beard. Also a little out of laziness.

Re: Why don't you shave?
I haven't shaved on account of having the stomach flu (logical correlation) but now that I've recovered I've decided to let it grow out for a bit. Not because I think it looks good, mind. More like a little experiment.

Mine is an experiment at this point. I'll give it a few weeks and reassess.DonRetrasado wrote:I haven't shaved on account of having the stomach flu (logical correlation) but now that I've recovered I've decided to let it grow out for a bit. I can grow a proper neck beard. But yeah, it's not an attractive option.

December 13th for me. Let's have a beard-off!!Lethal Interjection wrote:So I stopped shaving at the end of last year.
Mine is gingerly* coming along. I only shave my neck with a buzz-saw (one of those bzzzzzzzz shaver system thingies)
*a pun, for my hair is a fiery auburn sun-blessed orangey red ginger gleaming mound of furry excellence. That's a lie, I have turgid diseased-mouse brown hair, but my chin-hair looks coppery ginger for the first few weeks, before settling to a rich brown-red.
