It's 80X80, it's less than 6kb, yet it shows up as a red x. Any advice?

More seriously, is it in a common extension? .jpg .gif are usually sure bets.

And also the hosting site might just be the problem...

I had a similar problem once. I think I had to get it under 3k or something misleading. I don't really remember. Sucks to be you.

Maybe the forums aren't finding you cool enough to upload your shits on them.*

Then again, maybe it's just that size matters for them too.
But my linked avatar doesn't comply with the size rules at all. So it must just be the upload to forum problem that you can circumvent by using the adress you used to post that pic.

Host it on http://imageshack.us and then post the link in the "link to off-site avatar" text box on your profile. That worked for me.
