[2014-04-03] The Vetuscope
Vetus is Latin for old or ancient, which, sadly, also applies to the practice of chronological snobbery.

Is there one sympathetic character in this entire strip? The long-dead tenant farmer maybe?
Given that it's a 13-frame shaggy-dog story with extraordinary rendition as the hoary punchline, that might have been too much to ask.

Such disaster can be the only result of mixing Latin and Greek.

Like it - first time I have actually laughed out loud at one of your recent ones. Perhaps it helps that it is Friday.

Characters in jokes don't have to be sympathetic. It also isn't that much of shaggy dog story. It is unnecessarily long, but that is about it. I'm also not sure the punchline is all that hoary. Or at least, anymore so than the punchlines to most jokes. All that being said, I didn't find it very funny, but I don't think most of the long comics are very funny.Tony wrote:Is there one sympathetic character in this entire strip? The bulk of the joke is the kinda preachy "look, it's just like real life! politics, am I right??"
