Energy inverted
Current comic.
Split atoms in water would almost always be oxygen or other elements that weigh less than iron, resulting in a net energy sink, rather than gain.

First reaction: "heh."
Second reaction: "waaaaait a minute. Most hydrogen atoms can't undergo fission because they only have one particle in their nucleus. Oxygen could be split if you tried hard enough, but it would be an endothermic reaction. So no mushroom cloud. I think."
Third reaction: "besides, an atom is something like 99.9999999999999% empty space anyway. The odds against the dividing plane hitting any nuclei are really long. I think."

WInd Set-Down Theory. That is all.
Oh, and there are a couple of hypotheses about where it would have happened, but I feel that the more accurate hypothesis is the one that places it on the Eastern edge of the Sinai Peninsula.

More like complete horseshit theory.

It's been shown to exist. The only question is whether that actually happened or not.GUTCHUCKER wrote:More like complete horseshit theory.

There's no such question because Moses didn't exist in the first place. I'm completely willing to believe that at some point violent storm winds sustained for half a day could drop the water level in certain water bodies and form a land bridge. However, I'm not willing to believe that it conveniently happened where a fictitious character and his people were crossing, where nobody can agree on which water body it might have been.
Even then, wind setdown does not describe parting the red sea, because lowered water levels do not equate to having a wall of water on both sides of you when you cross.

I'm gonna bet that at some point Moses took a brief window of opportunity to cross an otherwise difficult body of water to cross, and people then added bits to the story over the years.

I say, did somebody mention horses?GUTCHUCKER wrote:More like complete horseshit theory.
Police said they spent some time working out if they could charge the man with being armed with a weapon, as technically he was armed with part of a fish.
