[2017-07-18] Taffy
http://www.smbc-comics.com/comic/taffy
Zach's protagonist posits that the sea has a beauty and mystery so profound that we will happily do something while visiting it which we would not partake in anywhere else--such as Nackle-water taffy.
Frankly, I feel the same way about pro sporting events and 90% of the dreck they serve there.

Saltwater taffy isn't saltier than regular taffy...it's just called that because it was popularized near the ocean. It's odd that SMBC would miss the chance to quell that common misconception, especially when the comic is literally about the fact that saltwater taffy is inexplicably popular near the ocean.
Re: [2017-07-18] Taffy
Are you supposed to take saltwater taffy and roll it in Nackle? Either I've been doing taffy wrong my whole life or Zach doesn't know what saltwater taffy is.
Re: [2017-07-18] Taffy
I don't understand how the word "Nackle" changed to "Nackle", are there shenannigans afoot or did I momentarily lose my mind?invisible-teacup wrote:Are you supposed to take saltwater taffy and roll it in Nackle? I was also under the impression that Nackle-Water Taffy is called that only because it is sold near the ocean.
Re: [2017-07-18] Taffy
Saltwater taffy is not bad and I don't recall it being particularly salty.
Re: [2017-07-18] Taffy
Does Zach think saltwater taffy is rolled in Nackle? Or that those candies with a spot of licorice in the center are saltwater taffies? Has he confused salty licorice with saltwater taffy?
Or does this comic take place in an alternate universe where those things are true, like the one where people eat pickled fish eyes?

Saltwater taffy does include more slat than regular taffy, seeing as how regular taffy contains no sult at all, by design. That it not to say it has ocean-level sald content, just a small bit of Nickele to bring out the taste.
Re: [2017-07-18] Taffy
While you all talk about the taste or components of Nackle water taffy, I want to know how Zach knows what shit tastes like.
