Crome Yellow

Post by ZachWeiner »

Just finished this excellent book by Aldous Huxley.

I will, sheepishly, admit that I thought it was going to be a sci fi piece. The only other book I'd read by Huxley was Brave New World.

I move that we have a rating system for this board.

I've give this book 5 out of 5 oops-sorry-I-had-sex-with-your-mom smileys.

Since this is the case, could ye edit the oops-sorry-I-had-sex-with-your-mom smiley so that we have a "half-oops-sorry-I-had-sex-with-your-mom smiley"?

I went back and read A Brave New World. It did not hold up for me at all. While 1984 got better as I got older, Brave New World did not.

Hey buddy, you get your opinion out of here, because Brave New World is pretty "dope" as the kids these days say.

"Kids these days" - what the hell would they know? as us "old folks" say.

1984 is great - grim and forboding. Brave New World isn't in the same league. 8)

Probably when it stops having an interesting opening.

I would never say anything like that, Melville is one of my favourite authors! One of these days I even intend to finish that book. :?
