Star Trek (now with spoilers)

Post by Jesster »

This is a film, it's coming out in May. I saw a special preview of it while I wa sin Boston and holy crap it was so excellent that everyone in the audience applauded at the end. So you all need to spend your meagre amounts of money to see this film, possibly twice.

Zachary Quinto is absolutely fantastic as Spock. I'm not the biggest Trekhead in the world, but the people I saw it with are. So if they're satisfied, then he must have been doing something right.

I may as well see for myself, because it's not as if my schedule is packed this summer, but I will be distrustful of it and looking to not enjoy the movie.

Oh I see, Nimoy plays "Spock from the future"... I have a good feeling about this. Still, First Contact had weirdo time travel, and that was really good.

I am officially not allowed to say anything about the film that isn't already on imdb. But what they do works really, really well.

Good to know.
My roomate wants to see it quite badly, so it is good to know that if I want to tag along, my money will be well-spent.

I heard it was actually an incredibly quality film. I saw an article on The Onion that, the title was, "Star Trek fans decry new movie: "Fun" "Enjoyable" "
Doin' podcasts before they were cool.

Isn't the Onion known for making funny stuff up?

Actually, the idea of that article is probably one of the more brilliant ones I've heard from them.
The fact is that, from what I've read, it is the truth. But the history of such films tends to result in the opposite.
It is almost like double parody.

A Parody wrapped in a parody, deep-fried with onions? Delicious and hilarious!
