If I'm going to impress a lady with my cooking, I'm not cooking ghetto pizza.

Wow. That's a carbo-load and a half. No thank you. Probably sits like a brick, too. If I'm going to eat that much pasta and bread it is going to have to be a better meal than that.
My ghetto pizza? Pocketless pitas, leftover tomato sauce, cheese and whatever meat I decide on. I've used some leftover bacon, and now I've found Pillers pepperoni, which is closer to a pepperoni stick than the processed crappy pepperoni that you normally get, and that works fantastic.

Man, I'm going to be eating a Hangi soon when I go to New Zealand, I saw one being prepared yesterday on TV and I was excited. Basically what they do is they create big fire in a hole in the ground and place some volcanic rocks on top to heat them up. Then they get all their meat and vegetables in big sacks and pile them on top of each other in order of estimated cooking time on top of the fire, and then bury it all in a big mound of dirt to make an underground oven. Then they come back later, dig it all up, and eat. EXTREME.

Make your bolding more prominent, took me ages to find what you were even talking about. Also, they're Maori.

Maori? Isn't that New Zealand.
I used to be in the New Zealand army. I've still got the uniform. Green shorts and green t-shirt.

Yep... Doesn't bother me.Sahan wrote:Make your bolding more prominent, took me ages to find what you were even talking about. Also, they're Maori.
A childhood friend of mine went to New Zealand, and I never saw him again. It's a shame 'cause he was pretty cool. There was talk of him visiting for a grade 4 class reunion but he didn't because that's insane and expensive.
That's the end of my story.

Re: EXTREME FOOD.
For christmas dinner two years ago we made a Hungi. It was awesome. Best fun ever cooking Christmas dinner, and makes way more sense in 30degree weather to have the oven outside. Lucky for you all I can't find any photos of it that I'm not in, so I'm not posting a photo.

Re: EXTREME FOOD.
Carbs are good if you exercise regularly. It's much more filling that fatty foods. Keep the pasta off if you want, but it makes it more of an eat rather than a snack.

Re: EXTREME FOOD.
Carbs aren't filling, they just make you hungry for more carbs. Or so I've heard.

Re: EXTREME FOOD.
Carbs are short for carbohydrates. They are long chained sugars. They provide you with energy. Some more than others, because some carbs are more complex and need to be broken down first. That's really you can say about them.

Carbs make some foods more delicious than others. That's about as much as I understand about nutrition. I might have a piss-poor diet.
