I never played any FF, beyond about 10 minutes in um.. 8 or 12 or something, I dunno. I knew people who were obsessive about it in the extreme, I could just never see the appeal. I've always preferred my rpgs more open ended, though there's only so much 'open' to any video game. Why I love me my pen and paper. Chrono Cross was cool though, and if I remember right its the same people, but hell, its a time travel story where the main character dies halfway through and you can find a way to bring him back (or not) if you feel like. Man, I miss that game, it was just so awesome..

Chrono Trigger (CC is a sort-of-sequel I guess) had the whole time-travel thing and a dead main character, plus the gameplay actually made sense. CC was sooo fucking confusing.
