Re: Town Hall Meeting W.R.T. Da Rulez
I don't remember being set on that, but I do remember being set on not tampering with the original rules.
Maybe split the originals from all the rest? Not like in separate posts, but as a line break sort of thing.

But there are important rules in both the original rules (1, 8 ) and the new rules (11, 12, 12-2, 14, 15, 20, 24, 25, 26, 27). LR wants to make it clear which are the non-in jokes.

All I know is, I pretty much stopped caring as soon as someone changed it to no arguing about whether Samus could beat Optimus in a fight instead of just saying that Samus can't beat Optimus.

Someone changed it back?! Oh man I am now invested in this!

Actually, what I want is rules that are easier to understand, as I explained in my original post (in fact it was originally your idea to specify the rules that are meant to be taken at face value, so please don't misrepresent what I want). I also want there to be some sort of consensus on this, because there's no point in having rules that don't work for us.
Also FUCK Samus could beat Optimus, I mean she blew up a fucking planet!

That was Mother Brain, not Samus. Don't misrepresent Samus' power.

Assuming no one else votes, the majority feels the rules are fine as they are.

I don't think you realise that the poll was tongue-in-cheek. The implicit suggestion (and later I just said it) was that I was hoping for some kind of consensus.
EDIT: \/\/\/\/ especially considering we have all of SEVEN VOTES.

What about the two who think voting is retarded? Are you just going to ignore them?

I didn't mean a majority of all the voters, I meant the option with the most votes.

As the newest newbie to post in this thread, here's my take:
1) You're lucky if people read rules first.
2) I did, but I'm a completist that way. But pretty much I read #1, and then #2 was clearly an injoke I didn't get, and I assumed the rest of the list was going to be similarly opaque so I didn't bother.

Re: Town Hall Meeting W.R.T. Da Rulez
I like the idea of a reorder. Like the few rules I mentioned, line break, then the rest.
If nothing else than for tldr reasons. That is a rather large mass of text to scroll through, it is easy enough to pass over the important ones while reading the list and getting a feel for the forums. Presuming new people even read them at all.
Actually, I'd suggest even leaving the rule numbers for continuity sake. We have made enough "Rule X" posts that anyone reading old threads should be able to find out in some way what those reference. And with things like Lexicon, and the rules in general, we are all about continuity.
You could do that by having them at the top and then repeated in the complete list, or simply having 1,8,12... and then 2-7,9-11,13-...
I guess bolding the important ones could work, too.
