SMB City

Originally a simple conglomeration of internet citizens on a forum, the increased population and strong desire for greater power resulted in a need for a greater association of individuals, hence SMB City.
In 2013 a committee was formed to discuss the possibilities of such a social contract, cited by most scholars as the beginnings of SMB City. The committee met infrequently, often with several key members absent from the proceedings. However, they did manage several important actions, including the first step in the <<Interstellar STI Vaccination Act>>.
However, this committee did not last long, as most members were assassinated by a young man soon to seize all power, eventually known as Zach the Magnificent or Czar Zachary the Third, who took exception to this democratic institution in his domain. His platform included absolute totalitarianism and public floggings. Over time he appointed subordinates to rule in his stead, such as General General.
Czar Zachary immediately started to consolidate the power of the forum. In 2019 the forum was officially recognized as a hamlet, 2021 a town, and in 2030 it was officially known as SMB City. Further consolidations of power were attempted during the <<Battle of Team Fortress>>.

Author's note: It should be noted that life before the municipalization was nasty, brutish and short. Also, early first-hand accounts of the committee meetings likened it to that of an Athenian city-state, with jokes regarding maternal parentage.

Are you certain that you are not mixing the facts from the First and Second Foundings of SMB City? I ask because it is noted that Zach the Magnificent was in power as early as 2006. Unless of course you are referencing the First Zach the Magnificent, in which case you should probably make that clear. Remember, this will be distributed to people just starting to learn the marvelous works of Weiner as well as those who have devoted their lives to his Works.

I understand the confusion. Perhaps I should have clarified. SMB City proper did not exist until 2030, however it is often referred to SMB City even prior to its recognization as a city (much as the Roman Empire is referred to as such well before it became a proper empire). Zach The Magnificent always had some power in the city (pre- and post- official municipalization), but it didn't centralize until the beginnings of SMB City proper.

I'm inclined to agree that the matter of the various incarnations of SMB City could stand some clarification. In particular, I think that the move from between the Inter-Net city to its physical "real-world" successor needs to be made explicit. Remember, we are compiling this volume for the benefit of the layperson, who does not have the same intimate familiarity with the subject as you and I.

Might we factor in the last fall of SMB City?

The final fall of SMB City is incredibly difficult to pin down, as there were as many SMB Cities as there were Forum Colonies. If you're talking about the destruction of the 'original' SMB City, then by all means I support its inclusion in this entry. As I explained elsewhere, it was the catalyst for one of the greatest changes ever recorded in the History of the Forum.

"Czar Zachary III" is not a title I'm familiar with. With whom is it popular?
I am curious about the first two Czar Zacharies, but I'm sure that this will be revealed in due course.
