Committee Members, SMB City

After the events of the Blogosphere Offensive and the rebuilding of the Forum, SMB City was heavily patrolled by the United interNetions peacekeeping force. In a treaty brokered by Martholomew the Maleficent (likely using the App of Wonders) the United interNetions withdrew from the new Forum under the condition that Zach the Jubilant relinquish part of his power and departmentalise it so that any military action would be considered much more heavily before it was implemented. Another of the many reasons this condition was inserted was the distrust of Zach the Incongruent and the misguided assumption that these committee members would be elected by the inhabitants of SMB City.

Zach the Fascinating chose the members of his committee sometimes with extraordinary care and sometimes completely arbitrarily, however it is generally agreed that most of his decisions were correct. In 2018, the committee members would have to be elected by the inhabitants of SMB City.

Although all committee members were chosen in the same way, they were divided into two main categories: that of the council and that of the various departmental committee members. Although on the surface they were equal, the departmental committee members decided that they were more important than the council which lead to the <<Implicit Superiority Act>>.

The twelve council members met for three sessions in every four days. They discussed new laws and decided whether to implement any acts put forward by the twelve departmental members of the committee. In some extreme cases the twelve departmental committee members could gather and implement an act, however this only happened three times in the life span of the Committee.

The Departmental members were in charge of their department and any acts submitted from their department must have had their signature attached. For some strange reason they were allowed to give themselves titles other than "Committee Member" which lead to such strange names as Lord Duke of Admirals Sir Laneth PhD MA, Depart for Health Circa 2019.

The twelve departments of the committee were (in order of members appointed as head of):
-Health
-<<Money>>
-Defence
-Comics
-Forum Regulation (also known as the DRD)
-Justice
-International Affairs
-Transport
-Communication
-Delicious Children
-Work
-Response to Wales

Officially, the twelve department heads never met all at once, however the acts that were proposed under all their names were signed extremely quickly.

The Committee was the dominant form of government, apart from Zach the Regal, up until AD 2101 when the <<Martial Government of SMB City>> was elected.

Authors Notes

The supreme leader of SMB City, Zach, is referred to using many of his titles in this article. This is to demonstrate Zach's titles and it should be noted that these are all the same person.

Remember, there were two states during this period that the "Response to Wales" committee could be referring to: The constituent nation of the United Kingdom located to the west of England, and the Wikipedia Project, governed by President Jimbo Wales. Now, of course, I know which one you mean*, but the lay public might not. Perhaps a clarification in your commentary might be in order?

*This is a lie.

I'd prefer if we didn't discuss Jimbo the Juxtaposed. His rise to power and the creation of the Wikitron are disturbing matters that belong over at the Wiki Lexicon.

As much as I would like to agree with you, Professor, the fact remains that the Wikipedia Project was one of the dominant powers of the late 21st century, and had a significant influence well beforehand. Our forum did not rise and fall in a vacuum; we have a responsibility to document the Wikipedias, the Canadias, and the Space-Ukraines that played a role in our history.
Besides, you don't seriously trust the Wikipedians to produce a reliable reference work, do you? Bunch of hacks.

The Wales referred to in the article is the country west of England and not a response to the Wikipedians. At the time of the committee's start, the Wikipedia had not began editing reality as it did in 2159 and so is not notable enough to be included in our mighty lexicon.

I formally request a minor edit in this entry to include the Department of Redundancy Department as an alternate name for the Department of Forum Regulation, and a cross-reference to that effect.
