They have different rules. Ice dancing isn't allowed jumps, throws, certain lifts, etc... they're also allowed more elaborate costumes and music with singers. Ice dancing is also divided into three different skates, as opposed to pairs which is two and in ice dancing you're expected to perform a dance, for example, the compulsory dance these Olympics was the Tango.

That's what I figured.
My problem is that taking that stuff out really removes the "sport" from it. Not entirely, I know, but there would seem to be less "technical" marks...

Good game last night. Canadia showed some chemistry. Nash was able to notch one, which is good. And the Staal/Crosby/Iginla line was great.

Also, the Shea Weber goal was crazy. He ripped it so hard it went right through the mesh of the net. He didn't even realize he scored. I think they said that Brodeur actually brought it to the ref's attention, and thankfully there had been no stoppage so they were able to review and gave it to Canadia. But it squeezed right through one of the holes and play kept going because no one knew it was a goal.

Now on to Russia!

Also, I saw a bit of the two-woman bobsled and Canadia is sitting pretty well at 1st and 4th. Canadia 2 set the track record on their run, then another team did, and then Canadia 1 did. It was actually pretty cool to watch.

I assumed beating Russia was always good.

I thought we stopped issuing out megapoints after the recession.

So apparently today, we got 1 gold, 2 silvers, 1 bronze, and beat Russia in hockey 7-3. Yeah, that's all right.

Great day for Canadia!

Beat the Russians!

Koreans get DQed and the women's short track relay get upped to silver!

Clara Hughes gets bronze!

Also, gold and silver in 2-woman bobsled!

Suhweet!

Also, while we are not near the top of the medal standings, we are tied for the most golds!

I think we're only legally allowed to issued them when the Hon. Mr. MountainMage MM., official dean and head of the SMBC treasury, chief officer of the megapoints reserves, and Moderator for Life is present.

I was just gonna say, where did he go this time? Not that I remember why he was gone the last time. Does anyone remember?
