Actually, once upon a time there was a contest of sorts in regards to posts. If you notice some of us have little titles under our avatars, this was a badge of honour that was bestowed upon people when they reached 100 posts. A badge of honour of a sign that you have no life, either or. It was harder back then to reach 100 posts back then.
True, but it wasn't as if people were racing to that. I still don't have one (though several people who reached it after me got theirs). Partially because I haven't really thought of one, partially because I haven't hounded anyone on it.
And, as mage said, that kind of disappeared for a while, where as long as you petitioned Dani or Zach, I think, you could get one.

And postcount doesn't really matter here. Most forums it does, definitely. I check once in a while out of curiousity, though, it hasn't ever changed my posting frequency.
What has is the increased activity and discussion, which have apparently increased me and mage's posting rate higher than ruo's, which is causing us to nearly overtake him.

All these discussions and new members causing discussion have definitely increased my post count. That, coupled with the fact that I quit a mmo a little more than a month ago, and I'm on winter break (meaning I'm at home bored out of my mind).

I'll be right there with you. I'm taking vacation starting the 30th (my birthday) straight through the 19th of Jan. And I don't have anything planned. I do expect to visit some friends, but nothing is in stone. I'm also purchasing a new computer in the next 2 weeks, and will be setting that up, which will take some of my time. I actually might get back in to my MMO (runescape) for a while, just while I'm ripping music and such.

Yeah, I blame Zach for my return. He posted on the frontpage about the RP and thought I'd join in. But anyone that's been around for awhile knows I post for a bit then disappear for a few months, then reappear. I'm the SMBC forum herpes, was I'm there I'm always there, even if it doesn't seem like I'm there.
Edminster wrote:I also propose that ranking be determined by how long a person has been registered on this particular iteration of the forums, because that would make me significantly more important than I am now. Damn you, Wolf, for registering about five hours before me!
That's right if you want to rank by how long we've been registered I win. No one out ranks me! Well, ok 3 people do but they don't count because they either never posted or haven't posted in over 2 years. Then there is Zach. he outranks us all for obvious reasons.

Yeah, I'm going to call you Ed from now on. Sorry it's in the official lesbian handbook, "You gotta keep the gay man down". it's a sub-set of "Hate all males" (Located between "At some point you must have a super short hair or a mohawk or shave your head" and "Strive for that toaster oven!") Stereotypes are funny because they hurt people.

You get a handbook?! All we get is an instructional pamphlet entitled "Your Brightly-Colored Neck Pouch and You!", some speech-therapy tapes to give that characteristic lisp, and a bottle of lotion to keep our skin moist while we spend time out of the water. I totally should have become a lesbian instead. Also, you're not the first person to get lazy when addressing me by my last name.

I'm flattered by this. Truely, I am.

Seriously, I'm gone for one day, and this is what happens?

Lemme address some issues. I was being stupid about the racism thing on Kidd the second time.

Also, hilarious quotes? I claim intellectual property over my original concepts. I plan to do something in the comedy department, although I'm not sure what. I used to draw alot and had real talent, but i've been idle for too long. I'm not able to do what I used to. If I wanted to do a comic strip, I'd have to practice a hell of alot before I could. I consider video making, but those have little chance to becoming popular at all. I would cheer at 1000 views after a month, just because I put the word porn in my tags. I don't want to stick to one completely, but would like to do one. I've considered stand up comedy, but I suck at it when I'm trying.

I really am hilarious though, but alot of it is in the delivery. I can't say I will make you laugh, and I'm not saying I could. I am saying I'm not going to try very hard. I've thought of hilarious concepts which I've partially forgotten, so I write down anything good. Sometimes I do it on the forums. You might not get how it's funny because I'm only putting up a reminder for myself.

I also realy plan on being a regular here. I understand the ball busting that goes on and have been acting to match it, but I am not trying to alienate myself. It would be much more accurate to say that I am forcing myself upon you. The rules have been really lax, so I'm not worrying all that much about getting kicked out.

Last note: I like earning attention, not just being paid attention towards. If I get a conversation about me because something I do is of enough merit to talk about it, it would make me skip more often than usual. IF you don't like me, however, I'll just have to post with no responses until someone comes along who will be my friend, and I can stop crying.

I stopped after you said "Intellectual property" while talking about yourself. Too much irony for me.

Poke. Poke. Poke. This would sooo be in my signature right now if I anyone would let me. Man I love that show.

The only thing thicker than the irony I'm laying down is the O-zone layer.

So get a blog. Or some paper and a pen. This is a forum for discussion not mental notes. Also, buy milk.

Do you really believe that forcing yourself upon us isn't alienating yourself? Do you not notice how some have been very quickly enveloped into the fold, while you remain on the fringe? Perhaps there is some flaw in your approach.

On a semi-related note, i tried to be funny, voting for the last option in the poll, after i saw a vote in, to confuse and obfuscate, and someone else did.

It's not funny, when you ruin my subtils attempts at comedy.

Imagine how I felt once I saw others voted for the one choice I could put in. I thought I'd be ironic and purposefully do the one that I'm expected to do.

Also, don't worry TwoBuy. I know even if everyone else accepted me, you'd stay strong. I respect that in you.

Honestly the inspiration for the poll was my friends breaking down laughing while I went over some of Ahmet's old post during dnd. One guy actually fell out of a chair. The largest comment was this guy couldn't be real, it had to be someone attempting to portray a retard. No one could accidentally be this stupid. Yet lo!

Ahmet I assure you, any humour that I do indeed frequently garner from your post isn't laughing with you. I felt the options I wrote protrayed what I think of your general hijinx quite clearly.
