That's right, there's a gigantic science lying right underneath your vision, and it has no practical consequence to your day-to-day living*. It makes me feel somewhat proud.

*The three most useful things we do are 1. translating (I only know English), 2. computer science (I don't know anything about computer science), and 3. speech pathology (which is its own program). Hurray! I contribute nothing!

Don't say that! You may one day help me fulfill my lifelong dream of becoming a fluent speaker of Linear A!
Computational Linguistics seems pretty sweet, but all I know about the field, I learned from Dinosaur Comics.

Doubtful, there is no phonological data on Linear A, and we still lack the data to decipher it with any accuracy. Moreover I can't imagine what one would DO with it, though I guess that's funny coming from someone who studies this for no reason.

I know.

It even says Linear B at the bottom.

I was saying Linear A was awesome, and I was posting a picture of Linear B, because that one has been deciphered. Calm yourself.

For someone taking so many courses on language, you forgot the most important type of phrase. The pun.
