Goodnight Sweet Prince

I like a lot about this forum, especially the size and most of you people, however this forum is just too poorly modded. There are more forums than there are posts. Mods edit peoples' posts without hesitation, for stupid things like grammar or, even worse, to change the content. Certain topics (religion) are off limits. I say I don't like my title, and instead of a change, I'm argued with. Having to deal with this shit is just too much. Moderators should let a forum go naturally, only wielding their authority to prevent trolling and to keep things running smoothly. Instead, Mage and Ed take every opportunity they get to brandish their mod sticks. Well done, you ruined a good thing.
A flight of angels sing thee to thy rest.

It's how he would have wanted to go, on his accord.

Should have just left the same way Laneth did. Then we wouldn't make fun of him.

Not if they are mean before they die.

It's like when really old people die and everyone's like, "well, they were kind of a jackass before they left"... Everyone shows up to the funeral, but no one really cares.

We should honour him for the hero that he was, he stood up to the tyrannical mods that run rampant on this forum. How dare they give him an amusing title and stuff. He amuses me, I wonder if he holds his breath in an attempt to get his own way? I think this has been the first forum freak out ever.

He was the most conservative person here.

Damn Tories.

Well, I left once, but I don't remember putting such enthusiasm into it. I don't think he realises that he'd have been taken more seriously if he just disappeared, rather than leaving a bizarre melodromatic temper tantrum in his wake*.

*Get it? Double meaning, eh wot.

The moment I realize half the members and the comic creator are all Jewish, I'm going to high-tail it out of here.

Speaking of which! Mage, did you get that recipe for Gefilte fish that Zach forwarded to us? Also, I'm hoping you have an interesting Pesach this year.

I hate gefilte fish, but I hate all sea-food so whatever. I am celebrating Passover though. Matzoh is friggin' awesome.

Me, I celebrate Easter. The celebration of God.

So, as part of my effort to discover What Went Wrong, I decided that it would be a good idea to head to the ABS forums to see what kind of posting environment had created the person we know as ChooChooTrain.

Upon reading the Rules, everything was made clear. Really, the ABS forums appear to be a very frightening place that can spawn only twisted husks of people without any sense of humour.

First though, I would like to talk about the fact that people with fewer than twenty posts are not allowed to make threads. To paraphrase CCT: Fluffy. That. Schenectady. While I understand the rationale behind such an idea (Prevents Spam-Bots from producing Threads, forces Newbs to get a feel for the Forum), it just seems to be stultifying.

As for the Rules themselves, they are quite possibly the most horrifying example of taking things too seriously.

For instance, the strictness of their PG-13 rule scares me. At least we grant lenience when it comes to occasionally swearing and linking terribly, terribly NSFW things.

But really, it's their Signature Size restrictions that startle me the most. Has anybody else here ever been on a forum where it's okay to have signatures that are so frikkin' huge? Seriously, they allow images that are 300x200 in size, as long as the total signature does not exceed 400x300. For reference:

There's a bit more, but I came to the realisation that the best part of this post is the Ham Sandwich portion and nothing I can do will make it better.

Actually, I find signatures to be amusing. I'm an active member on Gaiaonline, and I think the layout of the forums allows for those long signatures.
Although, we tend to be much better. That cheese picture was meant to annoy you guys, honestly.
