I avoid staring at strangers on the subway, but everyone makes me nervous so I'll often keep looking back at them to see what they're up to, so maybe you were up to something suspicious like flipping out a switchblade in front of me. If it was on the street then it probably wasn't me, because I usually keep my head down. But it's not like I look incredibly distinct, either, people mistake me for other people every once in a while.

I've never had people be terribly hurtful towards me, so it doesn't really fit.

I submit that you shouldn't go around getting into fights that you expect to win.

I often don't do much to receive the scorn of others. At truth I'm a really warm, mellow guy, but if I feel uncomfortable I tend to clam up and kind of give off this intimidating aura. People have told me that I look really scary sometimes. I also have a build that makes me look really muscular sometimes, so that helps.

Sad thing is though, that I do have to be on guard from physical assaults. Here in Arkansas the fact that I'm not a Republican makes me disliked, and the fact that I have long hair makes me gay, so I really have to keep an eye out sometimes. I try to avoid going out in public alone for that very reason.

Gotta watch that word filter.

Although I find the best retort to the old filtered comment is to enquire if their statement was directed at your fine self and whether they would mind repeating it.

Sometimes that's the best way to handle it. I don't go around looking for fights, but I've found that if you stand up and show that you're not going to let them have their fun they'll back down 90% of the time. But you always need to be ready for that 10%...

That's why I have my knife.

I don't carry weapons on my person, but I do keep a short aluminum baseball bat in my car.

Yeah man. I play shortstop in the intramural Midget vs Normal Height baseball games. It's a blast.

I used to carry a hammer in my bag, but then I remembered that no one in Toronto wants to fight.
