I think the issue is people are trying for more realism and as such avoiding the smoother/more cartoony styles. Its a shame, pushing the edge doesn't work if people don't have the systems for it, which most don't. Of course, it takes more then graphics to make a game half decent, but them being painful still ruins it. Its like the early 90s and games pushing the 3d edge and looking shitty as hell for it instead of just stick with 2d and making a smooth good looking product.

I look forward to trying that one at some point. I'm just hoping for a super hero game I can actually enjoy though, City of Heroes was just.. lacking

I'm waiting for the new Golden Sun game. I'm thinking it would be cool to see a 2d game like Megaman or something, where they focus on the game being good.
I know this is falling on deaf ears, but Pokemon's 3d sprites were pointless. In battle they used mere sprite distortion, and sprites can resize better in the few areas that they zoom out than the polygons or whatever they used.
