This sounds like my life in general.

However. You do make sense. Or at least, it makes sense to me. I've refuse to hate on principle, so I watch things and then I hate them. At least it's informed hatred then. So arbitrarily saying 'I'm not interested'... I can see how this may bother some people. On the other hand, if I spent my whole life explaining why I don't want to see something... well no-one actually cares and it would take a lot of my life. But I do see the value of seeing before judging. Even with my brothers opinion of Transformers and the two movie review programs I trust saying similar things I will not pass it by if I have an opportunity to see it.
Yeah, that's the basic idea.
Actually, I realized another reason why I came to this conclusion. If you are comparing your movie tastes with someone on the site, it ranks a "Not Interested" as 0 stars. Which makes it seem a little brash.
I've never ranked any movie 0 stars. I don't think any movie that goes through the studio system is that bad*. There is always some level of entertainment.

*There is likely stuff on YouTube that would rank, but those videos aren't looking to make money.

The Man in the Iron Mask = 0 stars
Fair Game = 0 stars

Only two movies I've seen in my life who get that mark.

The Man in the Iron Mask = 0 stars
Fair Game = 0 stars

Only two movies I've seen in my life who get that mark.
Basic = .5 stars (semi-entertaining at bits, 100% ludicrous)
Mulholland Drive = .5 stars (decent cinematography, prompts discussion, but boring and 100% WTF)
Congo = .5 stars (awful from start to finish but has a certain train wreckness to it, plus Bruce)
Burn After Reading = .5 stars (slow, boring nonsense, but has a cast that is interesting to watch their interactions)
Windtalkers = .5 stars (some action so that is entertaining, but is Woo-style, set in a war movie, with awful acting)

Just a few I could think of offhand that are my least favourite movies, and the minor reasons why I don't think they warrant 0.

Movies I've not liked at all:

Bloodrayne (There's literally a part where one guy goes "You killed my parents." and Bloodrayne or whatever her name responds "I know." and then they have sex immediately after.)
Moulin Rouge (this is probably based more on personal opinion then unbiased movie quality observations. It just seemed ridiculous, and even my mom walked out with me.)

Now I want to watch it. It's got to be worth a laugh.

It's only worth a laugh if you didn't pay nine fucking dollars to see it. Like me and my two schmuck friends who invited me to the movies to see it.

I had a pile (something close to 30) of free tickets to see Resident Evil when it was at the cinema. We could not give those tickets away, and we tried, tried really really hard. Even seeing it for free I didn't feel like seeing it a second time.

My worst movies

As Tail Lights Fade. The entire movie is a bunch of 20 somethings whining about their lives, that don't actually have anything wrong with them (for example one of the characters only got accepted into one university to do her PHD, another is a dick and thinks it's his friends' fault) and for a movie that's supposed to be about drugs, it's ridiculously boring. You could take the first ten minutes and the last ten minutes of this movie, cut out the rest of it, and you still wouldn't have missed a thing.

Mon Oncle Antoine (English title: My Uncle Anthony) This movie has won all sorts of awards because it has no plot, and that makes it artistic. My advice, if you ever get a chance to see this movie is don't. That's an hour and a half of your life you are never going to get back.

Epic Movie was pretty awful as was Wild Hogs. I really don't have the income to go see bad films or medium films.

Yeah, but it's the greatest Canadian film ever, apparently.

*Shudders* I've heard that.

The best (worst?) part is, I usually really like Canadian movies. But not that one.

I've met and chatted with the director, Malcolm Ingram. Cool guy. He knows it isn't great, and really only did it to increase his directing experience, ultimately on Canadia's dime. He's friends with Kevin Smith, and through the board is where I knew him.
I am interested in seeing his other movie, Small Town Gay Bar, a documentary that went to Sundance.

Wild Hogs got at least two laughs out of me, so I can't give it a 0. Maybe 1.5, because I also wasn't the target audience, my dad was.

That's good to know. It means I won't prejudge another movie of his if I see his name in the credits.

:( I actually quite liked that film. If just for the reveal moment of that bizarre sex toy that George Clooney's character has been building for months for his wife, and the subsequent scene where he dismantles it violently with a mallet. Good times.
