My friend was telling me that alternate name spelling has been shown to be correlated to level of education. The lower the education, the higher the chance of "alternate" spellings. Such as the one you listed.

The sad thing is that 90% of the name mispellings I can think of are from the black community. I would've made that correlation before the former one, and yet we end up with a different problem, which I knew existed, but it is sad nonetheless.

I mean, the most obvious example of these alternate spellings would be to scroll through the depth charts in the NFL.

I didn't know Carrie/Keri/Kerri/Kari/Cayree/K-ree* was pregnant until I watched half an episode the other day. I understand she isn't pregnant anymore, but the fact remains I didn't know she was preggo during the show. Must've been the first episode from last year that I'd seen. I haven't seen any with her mat-leave replacement.
Well, since some of these myths take a long time, they probably film a lot of 'em over an extended period of time. Although the episodes are new to us, they took place earlier this year. They might wait a little to start filming the next season, or they'll find a temporary replacement for Kari.

I'd discovered the receipt paper trick with a roll of measuring tape beforehand, but this guy took it to the EXTREME.

I'm gonna have to watch all these youtube links one day. For now I'm just going to say "Wow" and pretend I watched them all.

Wow.

From what I read on Wiki yesterday, it said that she was pregnant (or in various stages of such) throughout the 2009 season and had a replacement through the second half of the season.
I'm not sure when their season runs from, so I don't know if that season has wholly aired, or if that it is currently airing for the first time.
It would be interesting to see something like that, though, her jumping in her pregnancy (how much she is showing) through one episode. As, yes, sometimes those myths take quite a while. I know there have been a few that have been weeks (maybe some longer), and have wondered if they are shooting other episodes during, or if they are only coming in to work to collect data (such as the lives of the cockroaches and fruitflies). I'd imagine they do have a bit of a schedule that would maximize their time (multiple shows being filmed at one time), but who knows.

I watched an episode last night that wasn't new, but it was pretty cool. They took youtube requests from viewers, and proved that that big lego ball was nothing but a great big phony.

That was so disappointing. Just to watch it crumble like that after so much time and effort. Sadness.

Yup. I was really shocked when it just broke. I figured it'd lose a bunch of pieces rolling down the road, but it just utterly crumbled. Still makes me pissed that it's fake.

Heh at Ed's suggestibility.

Did the people that made the original video ever say that they never used glue? If so, I must have missed that part. Really the Mythbuster's didn't seem to bust anything on that one.

They showed that:

1. It only took them 1 million bricks to build a ball of the same size. (The original said it took 5 million)
2. It took significant effort to move it, because it weighed 3 tons. (The people in the original pushed it very easily)
3. A lego ball that big would not be able to roll around without breaking quite easily. (The original never said they used glue, yet only a minimal amount of pieces fell off)

Re: What are you watching right now?

Five million is obviously exaggeration. The ball was never stated to be solid in the original video, and a hollow one would be significantly lighter and easier to move. Using glue is logical to anyone who plays with Lego blocks.

Myth not busted and in fact is plausible.

Just because they left things ambiguous doesn't mean it's not myth busted. I agree with the MB's call on this one 100%.
