I'm not going to argue what the difference is between the two comparisons. I stand by what I said.

Kickass is about regular kids pretending to be superheroes.
Mystery Men is about real superheroes that suck.

If that's similar, then Kickass is just like the first Superman movie.

You shut your filthy whore mouth right this second; I will not have anyone here libeling Terry Gilliam's work. What's next, you saying that The Adventures of Baron Munchausen was also a bad movie?
Baron Munchausen is an awesome movie (using that term with the full understanding that it is not to be overused), but you have to admit it is a thousand counts of terrible. Its corny, predictable, tacky and completely impossible and that is why it is brilliant. Same with Time Bandits. My some of my favourite movies, so very very cheesy

I would be surprised that The Room hasn't come up more often in this discussion, except that its for movies that are good because they are bad. The Room melted my brain with its awful, even with riff trax to help keep me sane. So many buttocks... Oh Hai Johnny's Buttocks

But Mystery Men had super powers.
They were just ridiculous.

Another movie came out this week called The Defender or something. With Woody Harrelson. About a nobody trying to be a superhero. It was filmed right here in Hamilton, actually.

If we're going with good 'normal people as superheroes', I recommend the movie 'Special'. It's available for streaming on Netflix right now, and I recommend you not read anything about it before watching it.

That's not even a little bit suspicious!
Police said they spent some time working out if they could charge the man with being armed with a weapon, as technically he was armed with part of a fish.

I kinda liked Push. It came off as a little x-man-y, but it was alright nonetheless. An interesting take on mutant powers and the governments that love to experiment on them.

It was a little like that movie "Precious", wasn't it? Anyway I really didn't like Push. Also it didn't really seem like X-Men at all. Maybe you associate movies based on what powers everyone gets?

It was a movie. About teens. With various powers. And evil government corporations.

So was V for Vendetta, minus the teens.

Dr. Manhattan is the only character in Watchmen with 'superpowers'. Batman and Ironman are both just rich guys with fancy toys.

Of course, the entire superhero genre comes of as a derivative of The Dark Knight, in the end.

My name is Bruce

Although to be fair, i'm not sure where the horrible really is. The main actor from Evil dead, playing himself faced to a monster like he faces in his movies but for real? How could one call that horrible?*

*be aware that it's still not a good movie by any means.

I kind of want to see it.
I always picture a kind of Jumper-like film. Jumper was good. Not great acting or script, but the action and plot made up for it. So much so that I was hoping for a sequel (especially with the way they ended it). And to my surprise, they are actually making one! I didn't think it did well enough to warrant it, but if it at least has continuity, I'll check it out.
