Scott Pilgrim

Post by hawhaw1267 »

Did anyone see that movie? I know it did horrible in the box office due to The Expendables coming out on the same day. But come on! Scott Pilgrim was waaaaay better than the Expendables. Hell, Vampires Suck came out the next week and destroyed everything else in the box office. I have no hope for humanity.

Want to see it. I just never went out and saw it in theatres, so I'll have to wait.

Ditto.
I heard it was really good, though.

Yeah that's everyone's reply to the movie because they were watching Vampires Suck, thus, I shall kill them.

But for real, its an incredible movie for anyone that enjoys being a nerd. And seeing as how this forum is full of 'em. I figured the forum would have enjoyed it.

Tee-hee!

I heard it had a bunch of old-school video game references in it. And from what I could see, it also had a really comic-book-y vibe to it. I think it's kinda neat when they mix it up like that.

Yeah, like somebody knocks on the door and the comic book-y "KNOCK KNOCK" shows up. And punches have that old batman "BIFF POW" action words. It's a very fun movie.

I saw it, it was pretty good. Possibly the best movie I saw this summer.

This is basically my qualm with the whole thing; some people with exceedingly poor taste liked it.

I remember I read the comic book before it came out, and I soooo wanted to write it off as hipster crap, but it was genuinely good. The movie, slightly not as good as the comics, but it took on its own identity while not furthering itself too much from the source material, which I liked.
The Hipster Paradox: I hated hipsters before it was cool to hate hipsters.
