Rainbow wrote:I don't understand this stamina crap. I have none, but when I did gymnastics eleven hours a week and stuff I also had none. I do have an almost six pack, though. I guess stamina only comes from running and constant cardio? That doesn't seem right. I can do back flips and not run for fourty-five minutes? People tell me I can punch pretty well, though, so I'm safe from Cirtur for a little while. He can't take advantage of my gymnastics flexibility.
It doesn't only come from constant cardio, but that's the best way to get it. Though I always imagined that is what gymnastics was all about. I guess I'm wrong, or you just get tired easily.

Yeah, it's definitely built from cardio. Gymnastics just trains flexibility and agility.

Yeah, I'm reasonably strong, by no means weak, but my stamina is pretty low. I'm trying to play a lot more sport lately to try and fix that though. Stamina is all about the effiency in which your heart pumping and respiration provides oxygen to your body, so backflips don't really make difference there, it's all about being active constantly for long periods of time.

I just always imagined gymnasts running all over the place, though. I guess all they really do is stretch and stuff, and that makes a bit more sense.

Bars and floor are totally lots of cardio, though. And definitely vault, but that's more short bursts. Beam is probably the only thing that isn't fast-paced.

I am trying to improve my cardio, and it is effecting my strength. I admit I have lots of fat, but I also have lots of muscle. Recently I have been doing kickboxing, and I have found that in the process of loosing weight doing that, I can no longer lift as much weight easily. I can rep low weights like mad now, but when I try to bench press, I have to take 50lbs off to get 10 reps out. Its kinda weird..

I totally entered a shin kicking competition and kicked their asses. They're all like, want to compete? Everyone's doing it!
I say SURE!
They say I GO FIRST!
They kick me. Nothing.
Then I kick him and he falls to the ground.

Three people later, my mom sees me and tells me to cut that crap out.
