McCain had a good advert for a while. It was full of subtle jokes about their factory being made of wood, and a bunch of things happening.

Then they added a voice-over, because they decided that their target demographic had changed to idiot.

If I want a sweet but savory thing to eat, I'd much prefer plantains.

Not that fond of plantains*. I used to hate them, but now I can stand them. Sweet potatoes are much better though. Curse you, cold summers that make all my favorite vegetables impossible to grow**!

Why? They taste too much like bananas. I hate bananas.
** Just kidding, San Francisco summers. Are you still coming to the barbecue on monday?

Similar taste to Bananas? Maybe in texture, but that's where the similarity ends.

Hahah I know this is unrelated (surprise!) but I was thinking about this earlier today and couldn't think of a good segue.

:D It's semi-related.

I love that one.

That comic is what I think of whenever someone says the word "gaydar". I remember it is one of the many SMBCs that I've tried to convert to joke form and described to actual people, with limited success.

It's probably not a good joke to tell in San Francisco. They'll bash you for being homophobic*.

*I dunno.

Depends on who you tell it to. If you tell it to certain super-liberal newspapers or political activists, you'll get eaten alive, but otherwise you should be fine.

I know gay people who themselves use the word "gaydar".

You mean a school full of super-PC crazy liberals, or a school full of gays who say "gaydar"?

Well, both, but my school is the former, I guess.

We got some pet fish two weeks ago. One for everyone in my house. Except I didn't care because when I was young ALL the fish belong to ALL of us. We would all feel sad if one died, instead of feeling bad for whoever lost a fish. So screw it.

Are you just going to feed your own fish then?
